DAYS 1-4 ISTANBUL TO GÖCEK Your insider’s experience of Istanbul is followed by explorations at magnificent Ephesus and Kaunos, an ancient harbor city. Board the gulet in GÖcek. DAYS 5-8 LYDAE TO KAS Hike to the hidden ruins of Lydae and to the ruins of a Byzantine monastery. Walk the lanes of an eerie Greek ghost town, then enjoy a home- cooked lunch with a farming family. After visiting ancient Xanthos, a World Heritage Site, head to the harbor town of Kas.

DAYS 1-5 ISTANBUL TO GÖCEK Explore Istanbul, then head to Cappadocia for hikes in its moonscape of fanciful “fairy chimneys” and rock outcrops. In magnificent Ephesus, walk down Marble Street, where the ruts of chariot wheels can still be seen, and feel transported back to the glory days of Rome. After exploring mountain-ringed Aphrodisias, board your gulet in GÖcek.

DAYS 6-11 ALONG THE TURQUOISE COAST With your guide, explore such sites as the haunting theater ruins of Xanthos and the Crusader castle at Simena, have lunch with a local family, and wander the kilim markets of Kas. Visit Myra, where the tomb of St. Nicholas lies in a ruined Byzantine church, and the Antalya Museum, then return to Istanbul and depart on Day 11.
